Minor Sport and Exercise Psychology

Exercise and Sport psychology is the scientific study of the various psychological factors associated with enhancing sport performance and that lead to regular participation in physical activity. The curriculum of this minor has been designed to provide students with a broad understanding of issues related to the areas of exercise and sport psychology. This minor assists in preparing students for graduate study in the areas of exercise science, exercise & sport psychology, motor learning or psychology. The core curriculum of this minor combines classes from the Departments of Exercise and Sport Science and Psychology.

Required Courses: ID 450 (Exercise & Sport Psychology); EXSS 352( Exercise Physiology) and 453 (Motor Learning); PSYC 329 (Social Psychology), 357 (Physiological Psychology), 470 (Behavior Modification) ; Select one from: EXSS 218 (Social Aspects of Sport); PSYC 226 (Child & Adolescent Psychology) or HS 290 (Drug & Alcohol Abuse).
